I have such a thing for contouring and highlighting lately, it's even snuck it's way into my everyday routine. So when Mac recently came out with the pro sculpting creams, I quickly picked them up!
Below, are the two I went with, accentuate for highlighting, pure sculpture for contouring.
(left: pure sculpture, right: accentuate)
I use these right after i've applied my foundation and concealer while everything is still nice and dewy, so that the creams blend in easier. I like to think of these as a base for the powder contour and highlight you see below.
When i've finished the rest of my makeup and powdered my face, i use the NYX powder blush in taupe, and MAC mineralize skin finish in soft and gentle over the areas that i used the creams. I, personally, just like the look of using both, but using one OR the other would work well and look nice as well.

This is just the contouring and highlighting routine i've been doing lately, but i want to know yours! Do you use cream or powder products to contour and highlight with? Do you use both?
xx, emily
Using creams is much harder to pull of than powder, but after a couple sessions... it is so worth trying it! Looks soo much more natural! You wanna show us your routine?

i agree!! i can show you my routine, i'll add that to my list of videos to film! xx
DeleteI've been stalking these products since they launched! I haven't bit the bullet yet, so as of right now I'm using a MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Deep and switching between their Strobe Cream and Benefit's Moon Beam as a highlighter. They seem like such gorgeous products ooer xx

when i saw them, i was like, omg, GIVE ME! haha and surprisingly they are pretty easy to use too! i love the strobe cream for a natural highlight!! :) xx
DeleteI also use "Taupe" and "Soft & gentle" and I LOOOOVE them!
ReplyDeleteI use Jemma Kidd's Dewy Glow to highlight but I have a serious issue with contouring, I haven't found the right product yet. I got a Bourjois bronzed, the chocolatey ones, but even the darker shade didn't show up on my skin! :( I think I will have to splurge to find the right product for my skin tone! xx
